Is Tracki meant for tracking members of the public?
No. Tracki is built for an agency's own vehicles and equipment, and for officers and staff who know they carry a tracker. It isn't intended for tracking people or vehicles outside your agency's control. Any use should follow department policy and applicable law.
How does the SOS button work for officers?
When an officer presses SOS on Tracki Universal, the supervisor on call gets an alert with the officer's exact location by push notification, email, or SMS. The two programmable buttons can also be set up as patrol check-ins or a second alert type.
Do officers need to know they're being tracked?
Yes. Tracki is built for disclosed, agency-owned tracking. Tell officers in writing which devices are tracked and when, and note that many jurisdictions limit tracking of staff to duty hours.
Can route history be used in incident reviews?
Yes. Tracki keeps up to 365 days of timestamped trip history for your agency's vehicles and equipment, which you can pull for incident reviews and audits. Whether it's admissible as evidence depends on your jurisdiction's rules, so check with legal counsel before relying on it.
Does it work inside buildings and parking garages?
GPS doesn't reach far indoors, so Tracki uses nearby Wi-Fi to keep officers and equipment on the map inside stations, garages, and buildings. Where there's no signal at all, the app shows the last reported location.
How accurate is the location, and how often does it update?
With a clear view of the sky, accuracy is under 5 meters (about 16 feet). In live tracking mode, devices update as often as every 5 seconds, depending on the plan and settings.
How long does the battery last?
TrackiPro runs up to 12 months per charge and Tracki Universal up to 12 days, depending on how often each reports and signal conditions. Tracki Universal can also run from a vehicle's power with the 12 to 24V kit.
Can a patrol car tracker run without charging?
Yes. TrackiOBD plugs into the OBD-II port and powers itself from the vehicle, with speed and harsh-driving alerts. It's available through our sales team rather than the online store.
Can we track firearm cases or lockboxes?
TrackiSlim is built for that. Its two light sensors send an alert when a case is opened, and a geofence around the armory flags gear that leaves. It's available through our sales team.
Are the trackers waterproof?
TrackiPro is IP68 waterproof for outdoor use. Tracki Universal is water resistant and comes with a silicone cover, so it handles rain on a duty belt but isn't meant to go underwater.

What happens where there's no cellular signal?
The app shows the last reported location, and the tracker sends its latest position as soon as it's back in coverage.
How is our agency's location data stored and used?
Your location history is encrypted and used only for the tracking and alerts you've set up. History is kept for up to 365 days. It's your agency's data, and we treat it that way.
